POTENTIAL COACHES : IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT WORKING WITH CHILDREN RULES
Thanks in advance to all volunteers who will be coaching with St Georges Basin Football Club this year. In 2015, all clubs are required to comply with new mandatory Working with Children Checks. This process will be managed in the St Georges Basin Football Club by the Member Protection Officer, Tamara Lee and Coaching Coordinator, Craig Holden.
As a potential coach for the club you will need to ensure that you submit the following paperwork to ensure that we comply with the new mandatory working with children checks being implemented in 2015.
PLEASE NOTE: You are exempt from applying for a WWC Check if you are:
- Under 18;
- A volunteer parent who coaches/manages their own child’s team;
- A volunteer who coaches/manages a close relatives team ("Close Relative" - A spouse or de-facto partner of the person; or a child, step-child, sibling, step-sibling, parent, step-parents, grandparent, step-grandparent, aunt, uncle, niece or nephew of the person);
- A canteen manager, canteen worker or caterer; or
- A grounds person
If you are exempt from applying for a Working With Children Check you will need to sign a Member Protection Declaration
and provide to coaching coordinator Craig Holden.
If you are not exempt from applying for a WWC Check you must complete the following process:
Step 2: Take your APP number and proof of identity to the Motor Registry (RMS). Submitting a WWC Check Application is free for volunteers. After submitting your application through the RMS you will receive your WWC Number within approximately 2 weeks.
Thank you again for your commitment to the St Georges Basin Football Club. Your time and efforts are much appreciated!
